SNOWCATS |
SNOWCATS |
Elk Lake Resort offers round trip transportation via Snow Cat for guests without snowmobiles or skis, or for those who simply want a unique experience. All transport times are prearranged and must be set up prior to transport. Please email us to arrange your Snowcat transport.
Snowcat Operation: Snowcats operate regularly Thursday through Monday for weekend pickup and drop off at Dutchman Flats Sno-Park.
Day trips are welcome but availability dependent on number of cabin guests being transported on a daily basis. All Snowcat Transport must be reserved in advance. Snowcat schedules are created on a daily basis and are scheduled to run with all seats filled, to the resort and back from the resort. Your flexibility on times and the number of people we are able to accommodate daily is greatly appreciated. Please email in advance to make arrangements.
Snowcat Information: Please only one carry-on per person, plus your skis or snowshoes. Snowcat transported luggage and gear must be in waterproof bags. Please label these bags with your name and cabin number. Extra gear may result in an additional charge. All vehicles parked in Dutchman Flat Sno-Park must have a valid Sno-Park in the front windshield of the vehicle.
Snowcat Passenger Pricing: $60.00 per person round trip. One way trip and gear transport available upon request.
Contact elrsnowcat@gmail.com for all transportation arrangements and requests.
Snowcat Transport/Packing/Parking tips: We would suggest arriving 45 minutes prior to your departure time to find a parking spot and get your gear ready to load when the Snowcat arrives. Each person is allowed one (1) Carry-on size personal bag. Bags should be waterproof as they travel on the racks on top of the vehicle. Each cabin is allowed one (1) cooler or plastic food tote with a lid. All items must be in a container. Loose items are not allowed on the Snowcat.
Please have a valid Oregon Snow Park parking permit displayed in the front windshield of your vehicle. You can get this pass at any of the ski or outdoor shops in Bend. These passes are not available at Mt. Bachelor or Dutchman Flats.
Changes and Cancellations
If your party has a reduction in headcount or you need to cancel Snowcat Transport completely, please do so via email 72 hours or more in advance. Failure to do this will result in vacant seats that you will be required to pay for.
How Snowcat Transport Scheduling Works
About 10-14 days prior to your cabin reservation check-in date you will receive an email from elrsnowcat@gmail.com (if making a reservation I would suggest adding this email address to your contacts so this email will find its way to your inbox versus possibly finding your spam folder). You will be asked a series of questions that need to be answered as asked. Once those questions have been answered and emailed back, you will receive the next email with detailed instructions & information about your upcoming Snowcat transport in/out of Elk Lake Resort. Elk Lake Resort is a Pet-Friendly resort during our Summer Season. Please call the Lodge at 541-480-7378 or click here for more information. Below are a few important items that are detailed out in bullet points.
How to Communicate
All Snowcat Transport reservation communication will be done solely via the email chain we create, this way everything we discuss will be contained in one email to reference back to. There will be no phone conversation, just email. You will also be coordinating for everyone staying in your cabin, so please have your entire groups transport needs included in what you are passing on in the email chain. Sending out a group email to everyone in your group is a great way to pass on information to the group, please do this by copying & pasting any information you wish to pass on into your new group email. Please do not include the elrsnowcat email address in that group conversation and don’t add people(s) email addresses to our Snowcat transport Scheduling email chain. Keep these to email chains separate. (Please & Thank You).
It takes a minimum of Four (4) people/passengers to run a Snowcat trip, if you have less then Four (4) people these people will be grouped with other guest at a time that works for everyone.
Day Trip Request
Please email the elrsnowcat@gmail.com email address 10-14 days prior to the day you’re making the request for, and that will start the Snowcat Reservation process. Other than that all the same guidelines/procedures apply. For Day Trip requests, the same Four (4) person minimum applies. If you have less than that in your party and we are unable to combine your group with another, you may be asked to cancel or schedule for another day.
Inbound Snowcat Transport
Dutchman Flat SnoPark to Elk Lake Resort. You will receive your groups Snowcat departure times usually Tuesday prior to your arriving weekend. Outbound Snowcat Transport
